Lino Lithium, Sittard, 1985

Lino Lithium is a groundbreaking conceptual artist whose work exposes deep layers of humanity, vulnerability, and confrontation. Using a powerful visual language, she explores themes that rarely go undiscussed—from the harsh realities of our factory farming industry and the disruptive impact of mental health to the physical experience of pain and transformation. Her art is raw, intense, and poetic at the same time: a visual dialogue that is both inviting and sobering.

In her oeuvre, bloody, powerful images unite with thoughtful concepts, with Lino never shying away from subjects that push the viewer beyond their comfort zone. Through photography, performance, film, and mixed-media installations, she invites audiences to confront shared yet often unspoken experiences.

International Work & Exhibitions

Lino’s work has resonated worldwide. She has exhibited in Athens, among other places, where her solo project offered a compelling reflection on the boundary between body and society, and the tension between vulnerability and strength.

Art Director, Performer & Collaborator

Besides her autonomous art practice, Lino Lithium works as an art director for diverse projects that merge image, movement, and emotion. Her keen insight into visual storytelling comes to life in the film productions, performances, and photoshoots she is involved in—both for her own work and in collaboration with other artists and creative teams.

She has contributed to experimental film projects that navigate between documentary and performance art, and has been the creative mind behind photo series as compelling as her gallery pieces. In live performances, Lino brings her aesthetic into the space around us, using the body as a medium to allow unspoken stories to resonate.

In her art, she depicts women as creators, bearers, and fighters. Her performances, photography, and conceptual work demonstrate how femininity refuses to be tamed by societal expectations, but rather flourishes when the full spectrum—from gentle to ruthless—is allowed to be visible.

Lino embodies this power not only in her work but also in her presence. She invites others to claim their own space, embody their own story and see themselves as the source of their own creation.
